- DO:
If the driver does more than just drive
it is recommended to tip.
- DO:
If the driver needs to drive more than
30 minutes it is highly recommended to tip.
- DO:
A good cab driver will have a strong,
thorough knowledge of the area in which they work.
They should not have to ask for directions if you
provide a street address. If they do ask, they should
do so no more than once. Tip for the seamless ride.
- DO:
Tip if the driver get you to your destination
quicker than expected or at least on time.
- DO NOT:
Say you will tip then do not.
Myths:
- "Just round up from the cost of the ride":
TRUE - This is actually
very common.
- "The company takes the tip anyways.":
FALSE - Drivers make 100%
of their tips.
- "Drivers need to pay rental fees for the car.":
TRUE - Drivers do not
have to perform any
maintenance but they do pay rental fees, fuel,
and some insurance for the vehcal. Not to
mention tolls and some of the insurance.
